Ergonomic Principles - Repetition
Definition
Repetition is the requirement to repeat a certain task or posture over a set period of time.
Risk
Repetition becomes a risk when we are required to perform the same movement or sequence of movements many times over the day OR when we are required to hold a posture for a long period of time.
For office tasks, especially typing, it is recommended that a break be taken after one (1) hour of continuous typing or data entry.
A break can simply mean performing a different task, such as filing or reviewing a document.
